Lee Iacocca (b 1924), known for engineering the Mustang and for being fired from Ford Motor Company for the failure of Ford Pinto.
Iacocca then re-emerged onto the automotive industry stage, turning around Chrylser Motors, introducing novel vehicles like the minivan. He served as President and CEO of Chrysler Motors in 1978, until his retirement at the end of 1992. Many in the US automotive industry credit the success of the Minivan as a new vehicle category to Iacocca and his stubbornness in believing that such a vehicle was in high demand due to changing consumer lifestyle and their unmet needs.
The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes and minds. ~ Lee Iacocca
