Destination Branding | Creating a Country’s positive image [1]

Many consider The Incredible India Tourism Campaign to be the most successful nation branding effort in recent times. The multi-year and multi-million dollar campaign has been responsible for helping create a more positive image for India, from a country better known for its exotica (read: poverty), to a dynamic country ready to usher in the future… without forgetting her rich culture, that gives her the distinctive identity in the first place.

Part of this multi-year and global campaign are print ads. The following were created for the California market, hence the choice for a Hollywood Movie theme. Can you spot some of your favorite movies? Brilliantly executed!

The copy is nicely targeted — Hollywood movie titles as headlines and set against images from India. 
A simple tongue-in-cheek approach…..perfectly highlighting the sites, sounds and colors of India!
