In Memoriam ~ Steve Jobs (1955 – 2011)

The world learned today about the sad passing of Steve Jobs, the man behind Apple, who was the original “enfant terrible”, who had the guts and tenacity to stand for all the dreamers in all of us, for all the misfits in all of us, and for all of us who secretly fantasize about taking on the big guy. For Apple’s was a story of David vs. Goliath, of “the little engine that could”, of a computer that donned a bitten apple logo that went against the Microsoft and PCs of the world, and carved a massive die-hard following from fans across the globe.

Steve, we thank you for bringing us the sexy tools that we’ve come to depend on so much, and the ones we’ve grown to love so much and can’t fathom a day without in our busy everyday lives.

May your legacy continue, and may the quintessential American Business Success Story find its sequel. And lastly, may you Rest in Peace! Farewell!

In sympathy,

An Apple Fan

PS: I just blurbed out what was in my head… without putting too much thought or constructive structure to this eulogy of sort. In my admiration of an uncommon business leader who had both guts and glory… and his share of failures… but in the end he went in peace knowing that his work on this planet, helping mankind stay connected in more ways than one… was accomplished.
