Lighter side of branding | The art of taglines, slogans, and mottos…

Last year I posted a series on company taglines, from all angles: the good, bad, and downright ugly (let’s just call it “Off Code” as it failed to communicate the brand message). So this felt like familiar territory when I stumbled upon it. Can you guess them all? Click on the links below if you’re stupified, I’ve already covered some of them in the past.

Got Milk?

A diamond is forever.

Because I’m worth it.

Intel inside.

Drivers wanted.

Taglines… short, pithy statements that communicate the promise of the company in something that’s easy for people to digest. If it’s catchy and easy to remember, it also helps in helping brand recognition.

So what makes a good tagline? It should convey promise, position, and message in something that is short and easy to understand.
